Community Mission Ministry Fairs

Do you have unique talents?

Do you have a Passion for giving back to the community?

Ever wonder where your talents could be put to use outside of work or the church?

Consider coordinating or attending a Community Mission Ministry Fair! These events are designed to introduce members of our local church community to a variety of non-profit organizations active in Northwest Indiana. By hosting or attending these one-day events, you can…

LEARN ABOUT THE  MISSION of each organization

LEARN HOW TO VOLUNTEER time and talents

MEET OTHERS with a PASSION FOR SERVICE

DISCOVER how to express your faith through works

Community Mission Ministry Fairs are coordinated by the VCMA AmeriCorps volunteer, Matthew Byerly. Working closely with ministry boards and volunteers from the host congregation, agencies are selected by the host church and invited to present information and recruit volunteers during a one-day information fair. For more information on hosting a Community Mission Ministry Fair, or to learn more about faith-based volunteer efforts in Valparaiso, contact Matthew Byerly vie e-mail, or leave a message for him through his office at Liberty Bible Church, (219) 926-3038.

You can also learn more about the concept, and what it can do for your congregation, by watching our Community Mission Ministry Fair PowerPoint.

Our pilot Community Mission Ministry Fair took place at Libery Bible Church on January 27, and was a great success! Consider hosting this sort of event at your congregation!

Here’s what Organization Participants and Visitors had to say about the Community Mission Ministry Fair:

“I just wanted to tell you that we really found yesterday’s volunteer fair [at Liberty Bible Church] very helpful.  We managed to hand out about fifty brochures to people interested in volunteering with us!” — Daniel Waclaw, Volunteer Coordinator, The Caring Place, Inc.

“Thank you very much. It touched my heart to see that there are so many groups out to do a variety of good works. This event was a call to ministry. Now, I know I need to make the time to give back.” — Anonymous church member, Liberty Bible Church

“Now I want to go visit the offices of some of these agencies to see them in action.” — Anonymous church member, Liberty Bible Church
